BP MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON AGREEMENT TO REBUILD ST. NICHOLAS CHURCH IN LOWER MANHATTAN

“The rebuilding of St. Nicholas Church has been an issue my office has worked on along with Brooklyn’s Greek community, and I am thrilled that an agreement between the Port Authority and the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America will provide them with a new house of worship. This is just one more important step in the rebuilding of Lower Manhattan since 9/11, and the new St. Nicholas will serve as a beacon and sanctuary not just for the Greek Orthodox community in Manhattan, but in Brooklyn and throughout New York City.”
