BP MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON APPROVAL OF IBM “P-TECH” SCHOOL TO REPLACE PAUL ROBESON HIGH IN NORTH CROWN HEIGHTS

“North Crown Heights is one of the most economically challenged communities in Brooklyn, and I am proud of my office’s role in advocating for this new and unique school that will provide students—most of them from the community—with four years of high school and two years of college at no cost, teaching them the educational, professional and life skills that can lead to rewarding careers. This exciting new Pathways in Technology (P-TECH) model, created in collaboration with the New York City Department of Education, New York City College of Technology—CUNY (City Tech) and the IBM Corporation, blends rigorous opportunities in both college and career readiness and helps students reach the zenith of their potential.”
