BP MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF BUDGET

“I commend the City Council, Speaker Christine Quinn and Finance Chair Domenic Recchia on passing the Fiscal Year 2012 budget. Along with the Mayor, the Council has protected firehouses from closing and saved teacher positions while balancing the budget. I am proud of the projects this office supports through the allocation of capital funding. It is critical, despite the current economic challenges New Yorkers face, that the City continue to invest in the infrastructure needed to ensure that Brooklyn and New York remain America’s national city.”
