The Senior Advisor to the Borough President serves at the behest of the Brooklyn Borough President, providing expertise, guidance, and confidential counsel at the highest level in a primary support role. In the absence of the Borough President, the Senior Advisor serves as his designee. The Senior Advisor is the lead liaison between elected officials and the Office of Brooklyn Borough Hall; reviews and signs off on all Borough Hall related expenditures, including but not limited to capital grants, local community and block association grant allocations, and the One Brooklyn Fund, Inc.; and supervises Brooklyn Borough Hall’s Office of Tourism.
Further, the Senior Advisor works in partnership with the Borough President in the selection of all Board member appointments, including but not limited to Community Boards, BIDS, CEC, PEP, etc., and serves as the direct liaison between the Office and Board members. The Senior Advisor also works closely with developers to create development projects to promote the housing needs of underserved and senior populations and with experts in the technology field to create job incubators within Brooklyn.
