Borough President Adams, joined by Downtown Brooklyn Partnership President Tucker Reed, Council Member Laurie Cumbo, and Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs Commissioner Nisha Agarwal, signed up for his IDNYC

According to the Brooklyn Community Foundation, as many as 200 different languages are spoken in Brooklyn and nearly 40 percent of residents are foreign-born. The diversity within these 950,000 foreign-born immigrants rivals that of neighboring Queens which has the highest population of immigrants in the City.

To make certain that all New Yorkers can fully participate in our communities, I have called for Borough Hall to serve as a processing center for New York City’s new Municipal ID program, and I secured a municipal ID within the first few days of the program launch. I also fully supported President Obama’s landmark executive order on immigration that will help millions of United States residents – and thousands of Brooklynites – come out of the shadows.
