BP MARKOWITZ HAILS NEW AUTOMATED POSTAL CENTER (APC) EXPECTED TO IMPROVE SERVICE AT KENSINGTON POST OFFICE

On Tuesday, May 26, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and Brooklyn Postmaster Joseph Chiossone of the United States Postal Service announced the addition of an Automated Postal Center (APC) at the Kensington Post Office Station at 419 McDonald Avenue.

“Bravo to the United States Postal Service (USPS) for opening an Automated Postal Center to meet the needs of this growing community,” said Borough President Markowitz. “The much-needed APC will go a long way in improving customer service and shortening wait times at the Kensington Station.”

“The new Automated Postal Center will improve service tremendously at Kensington Station because it gives customers another alternative,” said Joseph Chiossone, Brooklyn Postmaster. “Rather than waiting on line, customers can use the APC to do most postal transactions.”

According to the USPS, customers now have the option of staffed window service or using the self-service APC kiosk that offers Express Mail, Priority Mail, Delivery Confirmation Service, First Class Mail, stamps, zip code lookup and much more. Customers can even pay for their PO Box rental fee at the APC. The APC is user-friendly, quick and easy, but patrons must have a debit or credit card in order to access its services.

Hours of APC operation at the Kensington Station are Monday through Friday from 6:00am – 7:00pm and Saturdays from 6:00am – 4:00pm.
