On Wednesday, January 28, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, State Senator Daniel Squadron, Assemblywoman Joan Millman and community members announced that Senator Squadron is opening a temporary Brooklyn District Office at Borough Hall. Also introduced as the office’s Brooklyn Director was Ellen Whelan-Wuest, a Carroll Gardens resident and veteran of the Obama campaign and Obama U.S. Senate office.

“Daniel Squadron is a real rising star, and has already proved to be an energetic advocate for Brooklyn,” says BP Markowitz. “I’m confident he will be a crackerjack addition to the new Democratic Senate Majority and I am thrilled that he will be making Brooklyn Borough Hall the site of his temporary district office. I guarantee that his presence here in the building will be inspiring to all who work here—myself most of all. As long as he knows that when the Junior’s cheesecake box in the fridge says ‘Marty,’ it’s off limits!”
