On Monday, September 29, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz welcomed Amalgamated Bank to Sunset Park as a new branch opened at 4502 5th Avenue. Joining BP Markowitz for the festivities were Amalgamated President & CEO Derrick D. Cephas, New York State Superintendent of Banks Richard Neiman, New York City Comptroller William Thompson, New York City Department of Finance Commissioner Martha Stark and elected officials.
“Amalgamated Bank is now ready for ‘prime time’ in Brooklyn,” says BP Markowitz. “Their presence in Sunset Park and other underserved neighborhoods which need quality financial services is a welcome addition. We are thrilled that Amalgamated is ‘banking’ on Brooklyn.”
