On March 19, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz greeted students and staff from the Mary McDowell Center for Learning, one of New York City’s leading independent schools and resource centers for children with learning disabilities. The school on Bergen Street celebrated the birthday and honored the legacy of its namesake, Quaker educator Mary McDowell.
