On March 3, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz taught 4th grade students at Williamsburg’s P.S. 132 the importance of reading as part of the nationwide Read Across America event. BP Markowitz entertained the children with the story of Testing Miss Malarkey by Judy Finchler and Kevin O’Malley. Borough Hall staffers Mark Zustovich and Bob Lipinsky read to students at P.S. 161 in Crown Heights.

Read Across America is the nation’s largest reading celebration and is sponsored by the National Education Association (NEA).
