On January 18, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined labor leaders and elected officials from throughout the city at a breakfast held at Borough Hall. BP Markowitz announced the formation of the Brooklyn Labor Advisory Board, to provide a venue in which union leaders can discuss issues important to the labor community.

BP Markowitz also presented a citation to Velda Jeffrey of 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East for her years of service.
