On Sunday, December 14, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz hopped aboard a smART Brooklyn Gallery Hop bus at MoCADA in Fort Greene and traveled to the Clinton Hill Art Gallery (154A Vanderbilt Avenue) in Clinton Hill to officially kick off the cultural initiative that introduced art lovers to Brooklyn’s thriving and diverse art scene.
Throughout Sunday afternoon, Brooklyn art galleries offered exhibitions and refreshments, as well as a chance for visitors to learn more about Brooklyn’s expanding art scene. The free smART Brooklyn Gallery Hop featured buses that run through four different gallery districts, allowing participants to hop on and off the bus within each line’s loop. Buses were also staffed with art docents offering smART tip sheets about collecting and buying art.
