BP MARKOWITZ SALUTES SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON IN HER NEW ROLE AS SECRETARY OF STATE

Here in the global village of Brooklyn, where our 2.5 million residents hail from 93 ethnic groups and 150 nations and speak136 different languages—we are thrilled that our dynamic Senator Hillary Clinton—who understands that one can be a citizen of the world while keeping our nation secure, and has a career-long history of fighting for human rights worldwide—will be helping President Obama to repair the damage that has been done by the Bush administration these past eight years, reinstate the best traditions of our nation’s international diplomacy, and restore global trust in America.

As Senator Clinton said this morning, her experience as Senator from New York has prepared her for this important leadership role, and we as New Yorkers thank her for her tireless dedication to New York State as she broadens the reach of her great talent to the international community.
