On December 10, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined Deputy Borough President Yvonne Graham, Santa and 7-year-old Star Bell of Flatbush in lighting the 38-foot-tall Christmas tree in Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza. Star was selected from the audience to flip the switch on this year’s colorful tree adorned with blue and green lights. Musical performances were provided by St. Joseph High School Choir.

After the lighting, celebrants were treated to refreshments in the Borough Hall rotunda, and Santa gave some early Christmas presents to children attending the festivities.
