On Saturday, March 19, Borough President Markowitz kicked off New York Road Runners (NYRR) Half-Marathon Grand Prix: Brooklyn. This half-marathon is part of a set of five NYRR races throughout the five boroughs. Half-Marathon Grand Prix: Brooklyn was a 13.1 mile endeavor, taking runners from Coney Island to Prospect Park.
“ Brooklyn pays tribute to New York Road Runners and all the runners who are bravely racing today,” said Borough President Markowitz. “NYRR Half-Marathon Grand Prix: Brooklyn gives runners a glimpse of the diverse and beautiful character of our borough and gives bystanders watching the race a great reason to cheer.”
