On Monday, May 30, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined the United War Veterans of Kings County in honoring the men and women of the United States Armed Forces at the 138th Annual Memorial Day Parade. The parade, which travels through Bay Ridge, is renowned as the oldest consecutively held Memorial Day parade in the country.

“Brooklyn salutes all of the courageous men and women who respond to the call of duty to defend the principles and liberties of our country,” said Borough President Markowitz. “We honor all those who have served in our Armed Forces and hold a special place in our hearts for the hundreds of thousands of American soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice to uphold democracy and the freedom.”
