Borough President Marty Markowitz joined “A Slice of Brooklyn” Pizza Tour President Tony Muia and pizza aficionados on the tour’s inaugural jaunt at L&B Spumoni Gardens, the Sicilian-style pizza institution located on 86th Street in Bensonhurst for nearly 70 years. The tour started out earlier today at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria on Old Fulton Street near the Brooklyn Bridge, where their coal-fired brick-oven Neapolitan pies are the stuff of legend. The “Slice” tours officially began July 30, and include a guided bus tour of Brooklyn’s classic pizzerias as well as a stroll along the Coney Island boardwalk.
