On Tuesday, February 15, Borough President Markowitz congratulated Colonel Tracey E. Nicholson for assuming command of the U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn. Fort Hamilton is the only active military installation in New York City, and Colonel Nicholson is the first woman commander in the garrison’s 179-year history.
