BOROUGH PRESIDENT WELCOMES BROOKLYN CLERGY TO BOROUGH HALL

As part of his ongoing campaign to unify Brooklyn and celebrate its diversity, Borough President Marty Markowitz welcomed the leaders of Brooklyn’s various faith-based institutions to Borough Hall today to strengthen the ties between these institutions, to listen to their issues and concerns and to encourage more interfaith dialogue.

“Our faith communities are the bedrock of Brooklyn. Our mosques, our temples and our churches, these are the places where our communities gather. It’s where they go to pray, to mingle, to mourn and rejoice,” Borough President Markowitz said. “Where they spend some of the most important times in their lives, where they come together to really know their neighbors. Your congregations seek you out for your wisdom and come to you for guidance. If we continue working together, I know we can accomplish all of our hopes and dreams for your communities and all of Brooklyn.”
