BOROUGH PRESIDENT CELEBRATES THE GRAND OPENING OF LONG ISLAND COLLEGE HOSPITAL'S NEWLY RENOVATED EMERGENCY ROOM
On November 6th, Borough President Marty Markowitz (2nd from right) celebrated
another milestone at Long Island College Hospital with the grand opening
of its newly renovated emergency room.
“The renovation of this emergency care unit is one more example
of Long Island College Hospital’s outstanding contributions to Brooklyn’s
reputation as a place to receive the very best medical care,” said
Borough President Markowitz. “Brooklynites will be well served by
the special cardiac and stroke services this renovation has made possible,
along with the state of the art pediatric emergency services available
here. I am also delighted that Long Island College Hospital has joined
Brooklyn HealthLink, the borough-wide campaign we launched last month
to make sure Brooklyn residents know that the very best care is available
right here in Brooklyn.”
This project has completely renovated the 15,000 square foot emergency
unit to reducing waiting time for patients, ensure greater comfort, update
the technology in the ER, and provide special services for cardiac and
stroke patients, pediatric emergencies, asthma, and for victims of sexual
assault and domestic violence.
