Step 1: Not-For-Profit Eligibility Screening

The first step in the process is to determine if your organization qualifies for capital budget funding using criteria established by the City of New York (the City). Organizational eligibility does not necessarily indicate whether or not the City will fund your project. You may be asked at a later time to provide additional information.
Please answer the following three questions to determine if your organization is eligible for capital funding:
- Is your organization a not-for-profit with documented tax-exempt status pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code or able to designate a fiscal conduit with such status?
- Will your organization receive operating funds from the City to provide direct client services during Fiscal Year 2009 (July 1, 2008 thru June 30, 2009)?
Please note: Some capital project types will require the organization to have an operating contract (min. of $50,000 per year) from the City during the past two fiscal years (since July 1, 2006).
- Will your organization guarantee that any capital funding received from the City will not be used to advance or support sectarian activity; including (but not limited to) religious worship, instruction or proselytization?

If you answered YES to all of the preceding questions please click the link below to determine if your organization’s project is eligible.

If you answered NO to any of the preceding questions your organization is not eligible for funding. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact Mr. Andrew Steininger at (718) 802-3877 or asteininger@brooklynbp.nyc.gov.
