Honor Our Phenomenal Elders

Honor Seniors 65+ for giving back to their community

Senior Umbrella Network of Brooklyn and HealthCare Partners announce
The HOPE Awards.

We plan to honor 31 seniors in Brooklyn for making a difference in the community. One individual will be honored for each day in May. There will be an awards ceremony and community event to mark this occasion. This will take place on September 23, 2008 at Brooklyn Borough Hall.

We call on you to nominate individuals for their achievements and contributions to public and community service. Do you have a relative, friend or co-worker who has given HOPE in the community?

In every neighborhood, there are "unsung heroes" -- individuals who give back to their community in a volunteer capacity.

The nomination process is simple and should include a compelling story about
the nominee.

Make sure to highlight how the nominee's actions benefit the lives of others and the local community.

Any nomination should address the following.

Outstanding personal acts: Here is an ordinary individual performing outstanding personal acts. This individual stands out for taking extra steps.

The individual acts were outstanding, unique and phenomenal.

Community impact and helping others: Besides the phenomenal acts of the individual, the individual has positively impacted the community.

The acts of this individual helped others. Look at the change or improvement that this individual was responsible for while addressing important issues facing the community.

Eligibility:
