Graffiti Request form

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take for the building to be cleaned?
There has been an incredible response to this program and we are trying our best to keep up with the high demand for cleaning.  Please note that the program only operates on a limited basis during the winter months because we are unable to clean sites during inclement weather conditions.  We appreciate your patience in this process and will be sure to address your requests as soon as the weather permits.

Will the graffiti be painted over or power-washed off?
The trucks are equipped with a machine that mixes paint to match all colors as well as one that power-washes.  Most graffiti will be painted over.  However, for brick buildings and other special surfaces power-washing will be used to remove the graffiti.  Please note that a site visit must be conducted prior to power-washing to ensure that the building is structurally sound and the pressure from the power-washing will not harm the building.  If you have a preferred method of cleaning please indicate that anywhere on your authorization form and we will try our best to oblige.

What chemicals will be used in the power-washing?
All products are ACID FREE and should not harm the building.

What if I want to be home at the time of cleaning or at least notified when they will come to clean so that I can close windows and shades, etc.?
If you would like to be notified of the exact time and date of the cleaning, please check the appropriate box on the authorization form on the reverse side of this document and we will try our best to oblige.

Any more questions?  Please contact the Borough President’s Community Service Center at (718) 802-3777.
