Brooklyn Borough Board Atlantic Yards Committee
The proposed Atlantic Yards project is the largest single development in Brooklyn’s history and needs to be studied within the context of existing land use and future and planned developments in these Community Districts and across the borough. The Brooklyn Borough Board established an Atlantic Yards Committee comprised of the Borough President, the members of the City Council from the 33rd and 35th Council Districts, the chairpersons of Community Boards 2, 6 and 8, and one designated representative of the Brooklyn delegation of the City Council, selected by the Brooklyn delegation chairs. This Borough Board Committee serves as a vehicle for research, information and advocacy for Brooklyn during the planning, construction and post-construction phases of the project.
In the future, this committee will meet with ESDC, representatives of Forest City Ratner Companies and public agencies to discuss any issues stemming from the development. The Committee can also hold public meetings on various topics of the project and its impacts throughout the planning and construction processes to address concerns as they arise in the affected area.
The EIS process is currently underway; for more information regarding the DEIS, the General Project Plan (GPP) and scheduled public hearings, please refer to the following link provided:
